A Love for the Beach

First Memory

The first time I can remember the beach as a child was in Galveston, Texas around 1979.  Galveston is a dirty beach. The rivers dump into the Gulf right there and causes the beach water to be murky.  We all had to wear old tennis shoes, so the tar would not stick to our feet.  Regardless, I loved the beach, sun, and endless waves!

Ann

In 1999, I met a lovely lady, named Ann, at work here in Houston, Texas.  She invited me to her home in Pensacola, Florida.  I was in love with her beach at first site.  Wow!  Sugar white beaches and turquoise water!  It’s so clean!  My new happy place!

Marriage

In 2004, Trey (DH) & I married on Oahu, Hawaii.  We dove for the week and we both wanted to give up our day jobs and immediately move to the beach.  We could open a dive shop and feel the sand, sun and ocean every day for the rest of our lives! We haven’t moved yet.  However, Trey is now a PADI Instructor.  If you are in the Houston/Sugar Land, Texas area and are wanting to take lessons, look him up on Facebook at Blue Water Scuba Adventures.

The Great Beach Escape

In 2016, we were fortunate to purchase our Condo on Navarre Beach, Florida!  We are 20 minutes from Pensacola and 20 minutes from Destin.  This area is known as the Emerald Coast.  Sometimes it’s even referred to as The Redneck Riviera.  Regardless, we visit every chance we get and rent it out the rest of the time at The Great Beach Escape.

Water Design Studios

In 2018, I kicked off Blue Water Design Studios as a way to continue to shop for all things beachy.  I get to shop for you without buying everything for the Condo in Florida or the Houston Home.  How fun is that?
